CHOW DOWN

One of the great pleasures of life is food. A culture’s essence is embedded in their cuisine, and a chef’s creation is a form of self-expression that involves all of the senses. Scents that stimulate the appetite, contrasting textures and temperatures on the tongue, the interplay of sweet, sour, salty, bitter, spicy, and umami, evoking different emotions within each bite. An artistic presentation of colors, shapes and textures is enhanced by the sounds of sizzling, clatter, and laughter from the kitchen, the soft clink of cutlery on earthenware, lively conversation, carefully chosen music.
